ETREMA Products, Inc. actuation technology provides a unique solution to process delays due to screen blinding. When applied to screen conveyors, ETREMA's actuators literally shake the screens and prevent the mesh from becoming blinded and ineffective. This has the immediate benefit of reducing down time for screen cleaning and or replacement.

Studies conducted with a major screening system manufacturer by ETREMA Products, Inc. have shown that the issue of screen blinding in any industry, including mining, oil and foundry operations, can be eliminated with the use of high frequency energy from magnetostrictive actuators.

Typical mechanical systems operate at about 30 to 90 Hz, which is well below the frequency required to "fluidize" the dry material being screened. This is also well below the frequency needed to minimize the hydrophobic characteristics of plastic screens for wet materials. ETREMA's magnetostrictive actuators can operate at frequencies much higher, overcoming these problems.
